The Terrible Twos are known for increased physical activity, expressive emotions, mood swings, and temper tantrums. The Beverly Theater is celebrating this perfectly normal developmental phase with a full slate of Terrible Twos (aka perfectly good sequels) through March 3 – all for just $2!
Fallen Angels (1995)

After WKW had a leftover story about a suave hitman and his fixer that didn't fit into Chungking Express, he put the story in this follow-up sorta-sequel, added a new thread where the lovable Takeshi Kaneshiro lives an alternate reality from his Express character. Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991)

You can never get enough Bill & Ted, as this sequel to their Excellent Adventure keeps up the clever laughs to make an inventive satire of the afterlife genre. Amiable slackers Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are once again roped into a fantastical adventure when De Nomolos (Joss Ackland), a villain from the future, sends evil robot duplicates of the two lads to terminate and replace them. Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008)

You know a sequel must be worth doing when the original director comes back for it, as Del Toro returns to direct another blockbuster from the iconic comic book, co-written by its creator Mike Mignola. Hellboy (Ron Perlman), his pyrokinetic girlfriend, Liz (Selma Blair), and aquatic empath, Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), face their biggest battle when an underworld prince (Luke Goss) plans to reclaim Earth for his magical kindred. John Carpenter's Escape from L.A. (1996)

The man with the patch is back. Call him Snake. Kurt Russell rejoins filmmakers John Carpenter and Debra Hill to do to the Big Orange what they did to the Big Apple in Escape From New York – with even more futuristic thrills and slam-bang action! Into the 9.6-quaked Los Angeles of 2013 comes Snake Plissken (Russell). His job: wade through L.A.'s ruined landmarks to retrieve a doomsday device. Get tickets to John Carpenter's Escape from L.A. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

One of the best entries in the original Star Trek world is a sequel to both the first movie and one of the best episodes, resulting in a mammoth Shatner scream: Khaaaaaaaaaaan! It is the 23rd century. The Federation Starship U.S.S. Enterprise™ is on routine training maneuvers and Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner) seems resigned to the fact that this inspection may well be the last space mission of his career. But Khan is back. Get tickets to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)
Jackass Number Two (2006)

Of course they didn't stop with just one movie. The Jackass crew up the ante and somehow keep the stunts, pranks and dumb escapist fun inventive and hilarious. Johnny Knoxville takes on bulls and rides a rocket, Bam gets a hot penis brand, Steve-O does Steve-O stuff, there's a Busby Berkeley ending, and Pontius does possibly the sickest "stunt" yet. Plus the first appearance of Bad Grandpa. Get tickets to Jackass Number Two (2006)

Aliens (1986)

It took seven years to see a sequel to the incredible Alien (1979), but it was worth the wait. Rather than imitate the tense, haunted house vibes of the first, Aliens goes bezerk with action for a smart, unique chapter in the Ripley vs Aliens saga. After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's (Sigourney Weaver) shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. After reawakening, she learns there may be another outbreak of deadly aliens in a remote colony on another planet. Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

How often is a sequel as good as the original? The creative crew and cast from the original returned to make this, with Elsa Lanchester portraying both Mary Shelley and the legendary Bride. After recovering from injuries sustained in the mob attack upon himself and his creation, Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) falls under the control of his former mentor, Dr. Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger), who insists the now-chastened doctor resume his experiments in creating new life. Babe: Pig in the City (1998)

After producing the first Babe film, George Miller directed the follow-up. This film takes a more dark tone, resulting in somewhat less of a kids' film than the original but still a cult favorite. When Babe accidentally puts farmer Hoggett (James Cromwell) in traction, the debtors come looking for their payments. In order to pay their debt, Mrs. Hoggett (Magda Szubanski) sends Babe off across the ocean to the city to demonstrate his talents as a sheep herder. Get tickets to Babe: Pig in the City (1998)
